Panettone (72H Pre-Order)
No Christmas in Italy is complete without this delicious sweet bread filled with candied citron, raisins, cranberries and lots of other delicious ingredients but most importantly time, care and love! Theres many stories behind the origin, but one of the favourites is that of romance of course, apparently a Milanese baker named Toni fell in love with a beautiful woman who walked past his bakery every day. In an attempt to lure her inside and win over her affections, he spent months creating this vanilla-perfumed loaf he called ‘Pan di Toni’ (Toni’s bread).
Our panettone is built from our lievito madre that was made over 3 weeks starting with just apple water and time! It takes 3 days before it can get to you including slow fermentation, baking, hanging upside down to cool and keep the crumb open and fluffy! We are making limited loaves this week only on pre-orders!
